How to Prevent Underage Drinking in Your Establishment

According to a December 2013 report by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), underage drinking is a “major public health problem” with far-reaching consequences. Alcohol is more used and abused than any other drug, including tobacco and illicit drugs, among youth under 21 years of age. Each year, alcohol use/abuse is responsible for more than 4,300 deaths of youth under 21 and in 2010, these youth were admitted to hospital emergency rooms 189,000 times as a result of injuries (or conditions) linked to alcohol.

The social costs are considerable: $27 billion annually, including the cost borne by society and individuals, which include but are not limited to medical care, criminal justice system costs, and lost productivity, according to the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. For purveyors of alcohol there are substantial consequences for serving alcohol to minors:

  • A $750-$3,000 fine for licensees, for a first offense
  • License suspension, or probation, on the second offense
  • Mandatory license suspension, on the third offense within three years, with the possibility of license revocation

ID Checking Guides are recommended by several state Alcoholic Beverage Commissions (and multiple DMVs) to aid restaurants, bars, liquor stores, grocery and convenience stores from costly fines as a result of accepting fake IDs from under youth. ID Checking Guides help these businesses better train their staff to be able to readily identify altered or fake IDs that may be presented by youth attempting to purchase alcohol. The compact size and low price-point of these printed guides makes them ideal for establishments with multiple point-of-sale (POS) locations. Gaps in ID verification at POS’ will be the target of youth determined to purchase alcohol, therefore it is crucial that staff at each POS are properly trained and have the proper tool to quickly and accurately identify false IDs.

How to Move Your Office

I will never forget the day I was moving my office to another location. It was a bright morning. Not even a drop of rain fell on the ground on that day, which made me smile because I didn’t want to move on a rainy day. I had ordered the services of office movers similar to office movers glendale az several weeks earlier just to reduce the amount of stress related to the move. I wanted the whole experience to be as much stress and hassle free. And here I was, waiting in my office for the movers to arrive. I looked around the office one last time. Large grey boxes were piling up on one side, dark-brown furniture was ready for transportation on the other side of the office. Moving to a new location was supposed to be a stressful experience (many of my friends had told me to expect it to be like that), but it turned out to be a very memorable and enjoyable day.

Based on my vast experience, I would like to offer you here a few tips that will completely change the course of your move and make it completely hassle-free. Here they are:

1.Plan everything in advance. I can’t stress the importance of this step enough. Based on my example, try to schedule everything a few weeks in advance. You will have the peace of mind knowing that you don’t push things until the last minute.

2. Delegate and outsource. If you are a boss, you already know about the importance of outsourcing and delegating. The same applies to your move. Don’t put the burden if doing everything on your own on yourself. Ask others to do some things for you, and you will be less overtired and happier. Remember that nobody expects you to do everything.

3. Clean out before you move. You might want to hire a cleaning crew to do it for you if your office is larger than you can handle to clean. The reason I am saying this is that you risk paying a penalty that will be deducted from your deposit if you don’t clean.

4. Pack your belongings in boxes. I always use boxes whenever I move. They make things so much more organized. I always have several boxes waiting for me to pack them. I usually buy more boxes than I think I am going to need. For example, if I think that I might need 15 boxes, I buy 20 instead.

5. Label all your belongings. Put small stickers all over your boxes so that you know what can be found in each one of them.

6 Come back to check if you haven’t missed anything. You can do it either at the end of your move, or several days after the move has already take place.

How to Obtain a Social Disability Benefit

Not everybody takes well the fact that he or she can no longer work. Men are especially vulnerable to feeling depressed when they suddenly discover that for some reason they might not be able to work. After all, men are the breadwinners in most families, so not being able to work can deal a serious blow to the self-esteem and confidence of a man.

Not being able to work doesn’t have to mean the end of the world, even in a down economy. I am saying it because I know of a benefit knowing as the social disability benefit. The good news is that if you are unable to work due to a medical condition, mental condition, or any other condition, you are likely to qualify for it. All you will need to do is to learn how to apply for it and win it.

I know that the government tends to be very strict when deciding who should receive the benefit and who shouldn’t. Writing down a list of your injuries and illnesses can be a step in the right direction. You might want to show the list to somebody from www.candiceapple.com. They will be more than happy to offer you a helping hand.

One important thing to remember before the decision is made is to avoid going back to work. Going back to your workplace can deal a serious blow to your case and deny you the benefit. If your employer forces you to come back, contact suitable lawyers and ask them for assistance in your case. There is no point risking not getting your benefit only because your employer wants you back. If you go back to work on a part-time basis, make sure that you report this fact to Social Security as soon as possible to avoid further complications. Remember that even if you work part-time, your application can still be rejected unless your earning are below a certain amount per month.

What to Do After Personal Injury

I realized that many people don’t know what to do after experiencing a personal injury. Some of them panic not knowing how to act, while others tend to ignore the problem hoping to forget about it. In this post, I am going to encourage you to take action so that you are properly compensated for your suffering.

One of the best things to do after personal injury is to realize that you want to take action. Try to keep notes about all the important information related to the accident such as where it happened, how it happened, who was present at the scene of the injury, etc. When you are done with this step, it is wise to write down a list of things you cannot do or activities you cannot participate in due to your accident. It will be helpful to you later when you are already in court demanding compensation.

One of the most important steps to take is choosing an attorney to represent you. Choose your attorney wisely, and you will benefit from it later. If you live in Miami, you will be probably looking for a personal injury attorney in Miami, FL, but if you live in another part of the country you will be looking for personal injury attorneys in your area. Make sure that you always ask a lawyer for his credentials and references. Only this way can you be sure that the lawyer of your choice is qualified for the job.

A July Morning in London

It was an early July morning. The sun was shining and I could feel its warmth on my cheeks and hands. Who said that the weather in London has to be always bad? The sun felt so good on my skin on that day and here I was, standing face to face across some of the most recognized landmarks in the world: the ever famous Big Ben. Just looking at it filled me with joy and happiness. I tried to imagine that I was climbing on its tower and the I was wondering the cool halls of its interior. I haven’t experienced anything like this ever since I returned back from London several days later.

During my trip to London that summer I stayed in one of the many London Apartments that London has to offer to its loyal visitors. They were similar to the London Apartments managed by Robert And Polly Arnold. Next time I visit London, I am going to stay in their apartments instead and I am definitely going to opt for their Central London sights this time. Even though I saw a lot of London during my past visit there, I certainly believe that I could have seen a lot more than that. I am sure of it. Who are Polly and Robert? Polly and Robert are dedicated Londoners with 22 years of experience in London apartments. Their goal is to help people have the best possible visit in their City.

LED Lighting

I am a huge fan of LED lights. I have currently at least a few of them in my home. They remind me of Star Wars and the colorful effects that the weapons in the movie produced.

I became very curious about the technology behind LED lighting some time ago and discovered that thin-film growth rate is behind it. Now my curiosity is satisfied and I know more or less how everything works.

Warmer Winters in the UK

What I enjoy very much in winter is my cozy home. I am definitely one of those people who spend plenty of their time at home. Of course, like many other people out there, I like to go on a vacation from time to time to a place where it is warm, but I even appreciate it more if it is really warm and cozy in my home. It can rain cats and dogs outdoors, or it can even snow the whole night, but I don’t care at all before I am receiving government grants for solar.

I personally became interested in Green Deal Scheme after one winter when my energy bills was very very high. At first I didn’t notice anything suspicious about it, but after giving it some thought I decided to take the matter in my own hands and do something about it. I had heard about Home Insulation and the way it helps you to insulate your home, so I became hooked on the idea of saving some money in winter. Since I could always use some spare money, the idea seemed splendid to me at the time and it still continues to sound great even today. My walls are a lot thicker and I have the government to thank for it.

Knobs for Your Practice

Every lawyer has an office in which he wants to feel comfortable. After all, decor matters to every lawyer a lot to ensure maximum efficiency. One way to accomplish this is to have door knobs that stand out. I am thinking here about circular knobs that are grooved. If you don’t have them in your practice yet, you might want to take a quick look at some of the knobs and see what you can find there that will be to your liking.

Couch Cushions in my Home

I can never have too many couch cushions in my home. Every time my friends come over to visit me in my home, they seem to enjoy the cushions to the degree that most of them almost fight to be able to sit on my sofa instead of sitting on one of the chairs I have in my living room. This probably means that I am going to need to get some couch cushions and a new sofa too!

Filing for Divorce in NJ

So you’ve made the decision to end your marriage. If you’re planning on filing for divorce in NJ (New Jersey), there are a few important things you should consider before doing so. This will help you be better prepared moving forward, and hopefully make the entire process go a little smoother for you and your soon-to-be ex. Here are a few tips to get you on the right track.

Residency Requirements

One of the most important rules in filing for divorce in NJ is residency. In order to do so, you or your spouse must have lived in the state of New Jersey for at least 12 months consecutively. If neither of you meet this requirement, you may be required to file in the state in which you previously resided. There are exceptions to this rule, but you should speak to a professional to discuss them.

No-Fault vs. Uncontested vs. Contested

Before filing for divorce in NJ, you must determine what category your particular case falls under. No-fault divorce is basically just what it sounds like – both parties agree that neither is necessarily to blame for the divorce, and they’re both agreeing to go their separate ways. Uncontested divorce is similar, and it means that both parties are agreeing to the divorce and are willing to work together toward a settlement. Contested divorce happens when either one spouse is refusing to agree to the divorce, or neither party can come to an agreement on a settlement.

Choose Your Method

The next step in filing for divorce in NJ is determining the process by which you’ll reach a settlement. It’s important to note that you have several choices when it comes to this decision. You can go the do-it-yourself route, which can be risky unless you understand the intricacies of the law. You can litigate, which is expensive and time consuming because it involves hiring pricey lawyers and going to court. You can choose collaborative divorce, which doesn’t involve court, but is still quite costly. Or, you can mediate, which ultimately gets the same results in less time and at a fraction of the cost.

Select a Professional to Suit Your Budget

Unless you possess professional training, chances are you are going to choose one of the latter three divorce methods, each of which involves selecting at least one divorce professional with which to work. If you’re planning to hire attorneys, be forewarned that you will likely have to pay a hefty retainer upfront, and then be charged at a high hourly rate thereafter. Likewise, if you choose collaborative divorce, know that there are typically several third parties involved in the process, such as accountants and child advocates, all of whom require payment for their time. With mediation, you only need one professional – a neutral third party mediator that won’t represent either of you, but rather will help facilitate negotiation between you so you can reach a settlement.

Be Willing to Negotiate

Before filing for divorce in NJ, remember that when it comes to reaching a fair settlement, you’re going to have to compromise a little. Be prepared ahead of time, knowing what you want, what you’re willing to negotiate on and what you won’t budge on. Pick your battles and keep your eyes focused on the end result, which is a peaceful divorce and a bright and promising future, and you’ll be much better able to participate in the give and take necessary to reach an agreement you can both feel comfortable with.

Accidents at Work

If you work outside of your home, you probably are aware of the fact that accidents at work do happen and they might happen more often than you would wish them to occur. Sometimes, there isn’t that much a person can do to avoid accidents since in most cases, you might not be the one to blame. The truth is that the moment you leave your house to get to your workplace, you put yourself at risk that something bad can happen to you. You simply need to accept this truth, but it doesn’t have to mean that you have to be helpless and never take any action.

Even if a person is very careful, accidents can still happen to him. My sister is a very careful person, but several years ago, while working for a company the name of which I no longer remember, she slipped on the stairs while leaving the premises of the company and hurt her leg. She didn’t break her leg, but rather badly twisted it. The whole situation prevented her from going back to work for a few weeks. Luckily for her, she was compensated for her absence at work, but things could have been a lot worse than that.

Those who suffered from accidents at work should know that they can always contact
