If you work in an office, then perhaps you sometimes wonder whether your boss might be monitoring your email. Sometimes your boss might even say that all email is being monitored, so at least you might know what to expect. The question is whether monitoring emails is the right thing to do. I think that the reason many bosses are tempted to monitor email is that they suspect that some employees are not using their time effectively. It is not uncommon for some employees to just surf the Web for fun or do other activities that do not have anything to do with work. Very often employees might be sending emails to family or friends that are not work related at all. If there is a reason to suspect some employees of such behavior, then monitoring emails might be the necessary evil.
